Wix and WebP support
The Media Manager accepts WebP. Wix then serves responsive variants. Those variants cannot recover from an oversized, noisy original. Treat Wix like any other host: right-size, then encode.
Why it matters
- Wix sites often use full-bleed strips; a 4000 px photo is common and unnecessary.
- App market image 'optimisers' add scripts. A local convert adds none.
- Multilingual Wix sites duplicate pages; image weight hits every locale.
How to do it
- Note the largest strip width (often 1920 px on desktop).
- Convert the folder at that width, quality 78–82 for photos.
- Replace files in Media Manager and re-attach if a widget cached the old URL.
Settings that work
Full-bleed hero: 1920 px, quality 75. Card images: 800 px, quality 80. Logos: 400 px, quality 92.
