How Fast WebP Converter handles your data. Short version: your images never leave your device and we collect the minimum needed to run the service.

The short version

  • Your images are never uploaded. Conversion runs entirely inside your browser using its built-in WebP encoder. We have no server that receives, stores or even sees your files.
  • We do not require an account. The free plan and PRO both work without registration.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • We use a small number of cookies to remember your PRO status and your daily free-conversion count.

Image processing

When you select images, they are read by JavaScript running in your browser, drawn onto an off-screen canvas and re-encoded as WebP by your browser. The results are offered to you as downloads directly from memory. No image data, filename or metadata is transmitted over the network at any point. You can verify this by opening your browser's network inspector while converting, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded: conversion continues to work.

Data we do collect

Cookies and local storage

  • proPaid and proPlan: whether PRO is unlocked in this browser and which plan you chose. Set only after a successful checkout.
  • convCount and convExpiry: how many free conversions you have used today. Reset every 24 hours.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking to understand how visitors find the site and whether campaigns lead to purchases. These services set their own cookies and may collect your IP address, device information and pages viewed. You can opt out with a browser extension such as Google Analytics Opt-out or by blocking third-party cookies. No image content is ever sent to these services.

Payments

Checkout is operated by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects your email address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive a payment confirmation with your email so that we can provide support and process refunds. We do not receive your card number.

Contact and refund forms

When you submit a form we receive your email address and message so we can reply. Messages are delivered to us over a private notification channel and are not shared with third parties or used for marketing.

Your rights

Because we hold very little information about you, most requests can be handled instantly. To access, correct or delete the data linked to your email address, use the contact form. To remove PRO status or usage cookies from your browser, clear cookies for this site.

Changes

If we change how we handle data we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
