How Fast WebP Converter handles your data. Short version: the browser converter never uploads your images, and we keep the minimum needed to run accounts, payments and the API.

The short version

  • The browser converter never uploads your images. Conversion on the website runs inside your browser. We never receive those files.
  • Accounts are optional. You need one only to buy a plan, keep it on several devices, or use the API and AI assistants. An account is an e-mail address: no password, no profile.
  • Images sent to the API or to an AI assistant are converted on our servers, kept only as a download link for a limited time, then deleted.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • We do not sell data and we do not use your images or e-mail for advertising.

Image processing

In your browser (the converter on this website)

When you select images, they are read by JavaScript running in your browser and re-encoded as WebP by your browser (or by a WebAssembly encoder on Safari). The results are offered to you as downloads directly from memory. No image data, filename or metadata is transmitted. Before a checkout, your converted files may be saved in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB) so they are still there when you come back from Stripe; they are deleted after 24 hours.

On our servers (API, Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants)

When you send an image to the API, or ask an AI assistant connected to Fast WebP Converter to convert one, the image (or the URL you give) is processed on our servers. The original is held in memory only for the time of the conversion and is not stored. The WebP result is stored privately and reachable through an unguessable download link that expires after 1 to 3 days depending on your plan, then the file is deleted. We record the size of each conversion (not its content) to count your monthly allowance. The page audit downloads a public web page and its images to measure them; nothing from it is kept.

Data we collect

Your account

  • Your e-mail address, used to sign you in (with a one-time code or link) and to send receipts and essential service messages.
  • Your plan, its billing status and renewal date, your conversion usage and pack balance, and the API keys you create (we store only a fingerprint of each key, never the key itself).
  • The AI assistants you connected (their name and when they last used your account), so you can disconnect them from your account page.
  • Where your first visit came from (for example a search ad or a campaign link), to understand which channels work.

Cookies and local storage

  • Sign-in cookies (sb-…-auth-token): keep you signed in. Set only when you sign in.
  • fwc_pass: unlocks your purchase in the browser you paid with for 24 hours, before you sign in.
  • convCount and convExpiry: how many free batches you have used today. Reset every 24 hours.
  • fw_vid and fw_attr: an anonymous visitor id and the campaign that brought you, used for our own statistics.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking to understand how visitors find the site and whether campaigns lead to purchases. These services set their own cookies and may collect your IP address, device information and pages viewed. You can opt out with a browser extension such as Google Analytics Opt-out or by blocking third-party cookies. No image content is ever sent to these services.

Payments

Checkout is operated by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects your e-mail address, billing address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive the payment confirmation, the plan bought and your e-mail so we can open or update your account, provide support and process refunds. We do not receive your card number.

Contact and refund forms

When you submit a form we receive your e-mail address and message so we can reply. Messages are delivered to us over a private notification channel and are not shared with third parties or used for marketing.

Processors

We rely on Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage, in the European Union), Stripe (payments) and Google (analytics and ads measurement). Each processes data only to provide its service to us.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete the data linked to your e-mail address: use the contact form and we answer within one month, usually the same day. Deleting your account revokes its API keys and AI-assistant connections and deletes its usage history; payment records are kept as long as accounting law requires. To remove cookies, clear them for this site.

Changes

If we change how we handle data we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes are announced by e-mail to account holders.
