Why HEIC is a bad web format
HEIC is efficient on the phone and poorly supported as a <img src> on the open web. Convert to WebP for pages. Keep HEIC/RAW in Photos.app.
Why it matters
- Clients email HEIC and expect it live tomorrow.
- Chrome on desktop cannot always decode HEIC.
- Upload converters keep a copy of the shoot.
How to do it
- On a Mac with Safari, drop HEIC files (up to 100).
- Quality 80, max width 2000 px for web.
- Download the first photo, then unlock the ZIP.
Settings that work
If Safari is not available, export JPEG from Photos first, then convert to WebP in Chrome.
Android users
You already have JPEG/WebP from the phone. Convert those the same way. HEIC is the iPhone-specific step.
